Fix your FlashDrive/MemoryCards/Ipods Write Protected Issue









It's always frustating when your flash drives and memory cards are write protected and the following error usually occurs.


• Cannot copy files and folders, drive is write protected 

• Cannot format the drive, drive is write protected 
• The disk is write protected 
• Remove write protection or use another disk 
• Media is write protected

A simple tutorial to help you fix this writed protected issue.

Note:
Tested on Windows Xp and Windows 7 OS


Steps:


1. Go to Start Menu, go to Run then type regedit and press Enter. (This will open Registry Editor)

2. Navigate to the following path.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE>SYSTEM>CurrentControlSet>Contro l>StorageDevicePolicies

Note: If the registry key StorageDevicePolicies key does not exist, download the ADD.BAT file below, if it exist go to Step 3.

Download this batch file called add.bat
double click after download the key will be automatically added to registry.


3. Double click the key WriteProtect in the right pane (see the image above) and the below image will appear.
Set the value to 0 in the Value Data Box and press OK button


4. Exit Registry. Plug your FlashDrive/MemoryCards/Ipods then copy/transfer files from PC to check if it's working.

but if it doesnt work
restart your computer and then again re-connect your FlashDrive/MemoryCards/Ipods to your PC then copy/transfer files from PC to check if it's working.


If the above steps are not working, you can try downloading the file below.
Extract and double click the file. Then try if you can copy or transfer files.
